Banner sizes always raise questions when getting started, and down-the-line.
Marketing Sherpa’s “Chart of the Week” this week focuses on banner ad performance. It’s pretty interesting, and although affiliate program banner performance can differ from traditional ad performance, you have to love the data.
Their study resulted in better performance by the larger ads (300×250 & 728×90), but they also make an important point that that it’s not the click-throughs that count. It’s the quality of clicks that will depend on the success of any ad campaign. Anyone can send clicks through to a site… but clicks that convert is another story.
