After all your hard work of researching possible new publishers, the next step is contacting them.
The best way to turn them off immediately, and burn a bridge or two is through a mass email.
You know… “Hello, We offer an affiliate program, and believe that your site is a good fit for our program. We offering 10% for all referred sales. Sign up now!”
This offers no information… and, straight-out looks generic. You might get one or two responses… but most likely no one of value.
You want to make sure the people recieving the email actually read it. A great tip to increase your odds is to personalize the email. Make it known that you did your research. Address a specific person is possible, explain why you think they are a fit for your program, mention something on their site that you found unique, and explain how the relationship is mutually beneficial. (Remember, sometimes the people you are contacting will have no idea what an Affiliate Program is… and it’s your job to educate them.)
By doing this you will not only increase the odds of getting a response, and establishing a great new affiliate relationship.
