Comparison Shopping Engines Survey Report 2008

I came across this survey and thought I would share it with you.  If you are a online retailer that have seen sales decline in the last couple of months, this is especially for you.  The Comparison Shopping Engines Survey is a survey of retailers and agencies carried out in August and September 2008, with the mindset of understanding more about the use of comparison shopping engines.

Here are some stats from the survey:

• Retailers get 10% of their online sales through the comparison shopping channel
• 43% of merchants surveyed say that this proportion has increased in the past year.
• 21% of retailers surveyed are not currently using any comparison engines to advertise their products on, while a further 16% use just one CSE.
• The majority of retailers (59%) are not using online marketplaces to sell their products.

With the economy the way it is and people looking to save some $$$$$$, Using multiple CSE’s is a great way to boost sales. (Especially for the Holidays)
