New Year, New Opportunities

As we move into the first weekend of 2009, December has come to a close, the 2008 numbers are in… and whether you fared well or not so well during this tumultuous time, the new year brings new opportunity for growth and redemption.

Everyone knows that Q4 is the the make-or-break quarter for most businesses, with Q3 providing the ramp-up into the holidays.  This makes Q1 & Q2 important for building your publisher base, enhancing your program and further developing those relationships that you have perhaps neglected in the past.

Here are 5 quick things that will help you get insight into your program, while creating a checklist for moving into the new year with a plan for expanding your program:

  1. ____ Are you taking advantage of the tools that are available? (Datafeed, etc)
  2. ____ Do you know who your top publishers are?  If so, how can you enhance your current relationship?
  3. ____ Did you lose any of your performing publishers during 2008? If so, why, and how can you get them back?
  4. ____ How did your ads perform? Are they too generic, what’s the message, who is your target?
  5. ____ What types of publishers are you missing? (Look at your Affiliate Mix, niches you are missing, etc.)

I know these aren’t exactly ground-breaking, but sometimes it just takes one idea to get you thinking in a different way.  And, sometimes even the smallest idea can yield grand results if nurtured.

Best Wishes for Great Revenue in 2009!!
